AMMAN, Jordan – Jordan's king warned Israel in a rare public rebuke that it is "playing with fire" with its settlement policy, and said in comments published Thursday the Jewish state must decide whether it wants peace or war.
The comments from King Abdullah II, whose country signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1994, underscore the Jordanian leader's frustration with recent Israeli announcements of new housing for Jews in disputed east Jerusalem, which the Palestinians claim as the capital of a future state.
Now here is a sample of the comments that the moderators at Yahoo approved:
Annie: Israel is a brat child created by the US. It is time for the US to take a strong stance and stop all aid to Israel. If Israel really wants peace then peace can come quickly. If they don't want peace then it is time for all nations to impose sanctions on them and for the US to take away all weapons of mass destruction that they have as a result of US support. We are tired of their comments of we will not confirm or deny. They are worst then Iran, at least Iran has signed the NPT. Quite frankly long term Iran would be a much better ally then Israel, they are not predispositioned to attacking other nations. We the people of America would like our government to stop funding Israel and to spend more dollars toward making peace with the Palestinians.
James: Jordan's King is a paid puppet of the Israeli lobby in the U.S. Anyone who supports Israel on this planet is evil and deserves to die.
Honest Dude: HAS ISRAEL EVER DONE ANYTHING FOR AMERICA? We have given them loan guarantees, outright cash, military assistance, and hundreds of billions of dollars over the years, (the wealth of the last generation). Has Israel ever done anything for us? Over the years Israel has fired on our ships and killed 34 sailors and Marines on June 8, 1967, conducted espionage against us many times and was revealed, and put themselves first in line for a handout at the senate appropriations trough every year like clockwork. Who the hell are these people and why are we a hated nation around the world for our support of them? They take our money and build settlements and move in radical religious freaks to occupy them, and if we are able to negotiate them out they then bulldoze the buildings that we paid for? The Palestinians are dislocated to the point of millions of people are ruled by a few hundred thousand with guns, tanks, planes and rubber bullets. It seems the Palestinians are putting up a fight with rocks and homemade rockets, this is lame. The Palestinians can't grow crops because the Israelis redirect their water, they can't cruise to work because there are hundreds of roadblocks preventing commerce and the transportation of humanitarian aid. The Palestinians are constantly subject to random searches of their own homes where they live in prison accordingly. The Israelis build walls and barriers, and usurp lands that are not the land of Israel, the Hebrew texts can be used to justify anything but religion is no justification for depriving millions of people from what is rightfully theirs. Joe Lieberman is a waste of oxygen, if he were sitting before me now I would slap him upside the head myself. If there are roughly 350 million people in America and Israel averages $5 billion a year in allowance from America averaged over 40 years including military assistance then each person in America pays from their taxes directly to Israel $14 EVERY YEAR. That is almost $600 per US citizen over 40 years. I call it the Israeli tax. How does that make you feel? Has anyone from Israel ever given you any money? We need to silence the Israeli lobby machine AIPAC, stop giving them any money, pressure them to remove themselves to the negotiated 1967 border and allow the UN to run Jerusalem for all of the world where there is a central location for three of the worlds top religions. Why can't the UN operate that area instead of Israel? If this were the case then presto no bloodshed, no hate no strife no American involvement no Hamas! This of course will never happen because any Israeli has a tough time giving up anything right? Can I get a hell yea on that one--- So here we are as a country, stuck with a lame ally that sucks America and millions of Palestinians dry for what---
Moore USA: We must let Israel take care of itself. No more American money or guns should support the Palestinian Holocaust. We must stop all support for the genocidal Israeli government. The USA must oppose this apartheid with all our strength. If God is on their side then they don’t need us. Good riddance! Stop this Holocaust now!
Montreal shop window display of alleged "human" soap
Jewish groups in Montreal are denouncing a curiosity shop where a bar of soap allegedly made from Holocaust victims' fat is for sale.
The beige bar of soap, in a store on Montreal's Plateau-Mont-Royal, is inscribed with a swastika and displayed in a glass case with a card that says "Poland 1940."
The store owner – who is Jewish – claims the soap was "made out of people ... the fat of people," but he wouldn't grant an interview about his stock, explaining he thought it was important to display and sell such items to remember the Holocaust.
Fake or real, the soap is outrageous, and "this individual, and others like him, are not preserving history in any way," said Alice Herscovitch, director of Montreal's Holocaust Centre.
"The sale of objects which glorify Nazism and hatred, to me, do nothing. They certainly don't help us remember."
The idea is also disgusting, she said.
"These are items that should not be out there in a promotional, sales kind of way."
Most Jewish historians and Holocaust experts say stories about mass-produced soap using human remains are untrue, even though there is evidence Nazis experimented with saponification during the Second World War in European concentration camps.
Allegations that Israel harvests Palestinian organs have re-surfaced and are posted on the UN Human Rights Council Web site in the form of a statement written by an NGO.
The International Organization for the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination [EAFORD] accused Israel of “ethnic cleansing and massacres” before it moved on to the issue of what it called “dead, kidnapped and killed Palestinians.”
“Their [Palestinian] human organs, as reported in the press, can be a source of immense wealth through illegal trafficking in the world market,” wrote EAFORD.
“Israeli physicians, Medical Centres, rabbis and the Israeli army may be involved,” it stated.
“After Israeli physicians remove organs they think marketable, the soldiers bury the bodies in graves that carry only numbers and no names, or place them in sealed caskets and deliver them under curfew conditions to the families and supervise the digging of the graves and burial,” stated the NGO document, which is posted on the UNHRC’s Web site.
EAFORD called for a boycott of Israel physicians and medical centers. It also asked the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to report on the matter to the Security Council and to demand that it be sent to the International Criminal Court for action.
EAFORD’s statement along with that of other NGOs can be found on the UNHRC Web site in a section for documents, which were submitted for the council’s 13th session, which is taking place this March in Geneva.
NGOs regularly submit documents to the UNHRC relating to matters under debate. In this session the council is debating the human rights situation in the Palestinian territories.
Muslim prisoner appealed district court decision not to provide him with fresh bread during holiday, however Supreme Court rules he must consider his fellow Jewish inmates
Bad news for non-Jewish inmates. Supreme Court justices Elyakim Rubinstein and Edna Arbel rejected Wednesday an appeal filed by a Muslim inmate against a district court decision not to provide him with fresh bread during Passover.
Madabe Mahmoud Rayiq, serving a prison sentence in an integrated section which includes Jews and Muslims, requested in his petition to be allowed to receive bread during Passover since there was no Israeli law imposing kashrut in state facilities.
He claimed that according to the halacha, a non-Jew subject to Jewish authority is allowed to eat chametz during Passover and denying him that violates his basic rights.
The prosecution claimed the Prison Service enables thousands of prisoners from various cultures and religions to observe their religious rules, but Rayiq's motion suggests that his wish to eat chametz during Passover supersedes his fellow inmates' right to observe their religion.
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President Barack Obama's nominee to oversee security at U.S. airports said on Tuesday he wants to shift screening closer to the Israeli model to include more behavior detection in a bid to thwart terrorism plots.
Retired Major General Robert Harding was nominated earlier this month to head the Transportation Security Administration after serving more than three decades in the military, including a stint as deputy to the Army's chief of intelligence and director for operations in the Defense Intelligence Agency.
Aviation security has received heightened attention in recent months after a Nigerian man tried to blow up a U.S. commercial airliner flying from Amsterdam to Detroit last Christmas with a bomb hidden in his underwear.
Harding said that while the Israeli security system was smaller, it offered a blueprint for trying to thwart terrorism plots in the aviation system, which has remained a target for militant groups like al Qaeda.
"We should move even closer to an Israeli model where there's more engagement with passengers," Harding told the Senate Commerce Committee that is considering his nomination. "I think that increases the layers and pushes the layers out."
He said the TSA had about 2,000 behavioral detection officers and that expanded training was needed.
Behind the scenes of the negotiations has been President Obama's chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel. The hard-charging, high-octane Emanuel is a former influential congressman from Chicago, who is known as an arm twister on Capitol Hill, an enforcer with a reputation for getting things done. He was brought into the Obama administration for moments just like this.
Map of Jerusalem. Ramat Shlomo is red drop in upper left (that's North!) Old city is outlined in red. Givat Zeev, not shown in the map, is North and West of Ramat Shlomo.
RAMALLAH, West Bank – Visiting U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon said Saturday that Israeli settlement building anywhere on occupied land is illegal and must be stopped, while a Palestinian teenager was killed in clashes with Israeli troops elsewhere in the West Bank.
The death of 16-year-old Mohammed Qadus, who Palestinians say was shot in the chest by Israeli security forces, comes amid heightened tensions between Israelis and Palestinians after Israel announced plans last week for 1,600 new homes for Jews in disputed east Jerusalem. [and North and West Jerusalem]
The settlement announcement has sparked outrage and protests from Palestinians, as well as condemnation from Israel's closest ally — the United States — and the U.N. secretary general.
From a hilltop observation post on the outskirts of the Palestinian city of Ramallah, Ban got a closer look Saturday at some of the Israeli enclaves scattered across Palestinian-claimed territories.
The panorama included the sprawling West Bank settlement of Givat Zeev, home to 11,000 Israelis who live in rows of red-roofed houses, and Jewish neighborhoods in traditionally Arab east Jerusalem, the Israeli-annexed sector of the city that Palestinians claim as a future capital.
The brief [FAKE] geography lesson came a day after Ban, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and other major Mideast mediators — known as the Quartet — met in Moscow to try to find a way to restart Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.
The mediators urged Israel to halt all settlement construction. Israel has agreed to curb settlement construction in the West Bank, but not in east Jerusalem, claiming the entire city as Israel's eternal capital.
Palestinian children walk past a metal foundry [used to manufacture rockets which are launched into Israel with the intent to kill random Jews--VB] destroyed in an Israeli air strike in Gaza City March 19, 2010. Israeli aircraft struck at least six targets in the Gaza Strip on Friday a day after a rocket fired from the Palestinian enclave killed a Thai worker in Israel, Hamas security officials and witnesses said. Another gaping-mouth WTF moment. Who lets kids run around in metal foundries, especially damaged foundries where rebar can topple and cause injury and death?
Palestinians, that's who. For gullible media photo-ops.
Model of 'third temple' superimposed on Jewish books distributed in Jaffa kindergarten. Local Arab leader: Settlers trying to provoke us
Haggadot for Pesach distributed Thursday in kindergartens throughout religiously mixed Jaffa bore a photo of the Temple Mount on the cover, but the al-Aqsa Mosque, which is also located in the east Jerusalem compound, was conspicuously omitted.
An image of a model of the "third temple" was superimposed on the photo in place of the mosque, which is one of Islam's holiest sites.
It is unclear who distributed the haggadot.
"We've seen red lines being crossed in the past, but this is a crossing of all boundaries," said Kamel Agbaria, chairman of the Ajami neighborhood council.
"People must understand that they live in a mixed city and therefore must be sensitive to the population's feelings. This Haggadah is a sheer provocation by settlers who came to live in Jaffa. They are looking to provoke the Arab public so that it will respond with rage. I hope someone will stop those who are inciting in time, so that the already tense situation won’t boil over," he said.
The Tel Aviv Municipality responded by saying that the haggadot were distributed without its knowledge.
First of all, Jaffa is an Israeli city, well within the "Green Line." Therefore the Jews who live there are citizens, not "settlers."
Second of all, "Le Shana Haba Be'Yerushalayim" ("Next Year in Jerusalem!") has been standard in the Haggadah for thousands of years.
Lastly, with removing the whole of Israel and replacing it with "Palestine," urging little children to "martyr" themselves killing Jews, naming public streets, squares, summer camps and schools after terrorists, along with daily broadcasts of blood libels and Juice conspiracies, complaining about a traditional Haggadah is the epitome of "chutzpah."
The al-Jazeera network aired an interview Thursday where assassinated Hamas man Mahmoud al-Mabhouh described the murder of an IDF soldier in the late 1980s.
The interview was filmed about a year ago and was aired by al-Jazeera for the first time. Al-Mabhouh, who was killed in Dubai earlier this year, is considered the mastermind behind the killing of the soldier, Avi Sasportas.
On February 16, 1989 a vehicle carrying two Hamas terrorists picked up Sasportas, who was hitchhiking near his base. Thousands of police officers, soldiers, and volunteers took part in the subsequent search for the abducted soldier that lasted 81 days.
Sasportas' body was found in May 1989 at an open field near the intersection he was abducted from.
"We dressed up like settlers and put a kippa on our head like rabbis," al-Mabhouh said in the interview. His partner in the operation, nicknamed "Abu Sihab," said: "We saw the Israeli soldier; he signaled to us at the side of the road and we stopped for him. We asked him: 'Where are you heading to?' He said: 'Ashkelon' and we told him to come with us."
Al-Mabhouh said that, in line with the plan, the abductors rode with Sasportas for about 3 kilometers (roughly 2 miles), before shooting two bullets in his face using a handgun. Next, they buried his body.

J Street is defending their hero, President Obama, against those "hawkish" "anti-peace" Israelis who are doing terrible things like building houses for Jews.
Stand against Israel in order to be "pro-Israel"
J Street action call against Israel:
Tensions between the United States and Israel remain high ever since Israel's government stunned Vice President Biden and supporters of the peace process by announcing new construction in East Jerusalem during the Vice President's visit.
Some hawkish pro-Israel activists are seizing the opportunity to attack the Obama Administration over Israel, urging the Administration to slow down and back off.
The pro-Israel [this is bullshit--VB], pro-peace [this is also bullshit--VB] movement is stepping up strong. Earlier this week, J Street leadership delivered over 18,000 signatures to White House officials demonstrating that large numbers of pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans agree with the Vice President when he says "sometimes only a friend can deliver the hardest truth," and urging the Administration to turn this crisis into an opportunity for progress on two states.
Now that the White House has heard us loud and clear, we're setting our sights on the U.S. Congress.
A Palestinian school boy shouts slogans as he holds with other protesters a map of British-mandate Palestine during a demonstration in the Ain al-Helweh refugee camp, on the outskirts of the southern Lebanese port of Sidon, on March 16, 2010 against recent Israeli measures in Arab east Jerusalem. Israel's announcement last week of plans to build 1,600 new Jewish settler homes in the Arab sector of Jerusalem and the reopening of the twice-destroyed Hurva synagogue in its walled Old City on March 15 have sparked outrage among Palestinians, many of whom view Israeli projects near the flashpoint Al-Aqsa mosque compound -- Islam's third holiest site -- as an assault on its tense status quo or a prelude to the building of a third Jewish temple there. Getty Images.
No, here is a map of British Mandate Palestine:
You will see that this map includes what is now known as the "Kingdom of Jordan" which is not shown on the Palestinian school boy's map. Because what he is displaying is not a historical map of "British Mandate Palestine" but a map of the "State of Palestine" once Israel has been wiped out.
The rest of the caption is more bullshit propaganda about "Jewish settler homes" in "Arab Jerusalem" and "building the third Temple."
"We all have evil within us. Even small children are evil towards each other," Danish-Norwegian artist Nina Maria Kleivan tells Haaretz as she explains why she chose to dress up her baby daughter as the most evil historical figures of the 20th century.
"Even my daughter could end up ruling Denmark with an iron fist. The possibility is still there. You never know."
In the controversial photo-series "Potency," Kleivan's daughter Faustina, then a few months old, depicts such infamous personalities as Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini, Saddam Hussein, Ayatollah Khomeini, Chairman Mao, Idi Amin, Augusto Pinochet, Slobodan Milosevic, and Adolf Hitler. The aim is to illustrate just one thing: We all begin life the same. We all have every opportunity ahead of us. To do good, or inexplicable evil.
"You need to be conscious that your actions have consequences that impact on your fellow human beings. The people I let my daughter portray didn't give a damn about the human cost, the casualties, their thoughts caused," Kleivan says.
"The responsibility is yours alone. You can't throw it away - as a parent, as human beings - and say that you just followed orders."
When Kleivan gave birth to Faustina, her second child, serious pelvic joint pain kept her in hospital for two months, then captive at home in a wheelchair for another four months. Bored out her mind and incapable of accessing her studio, she found a canvas in her newborn daughter. She began sewing small costumes using items at hand, dressing her child up as the worst dictators of recent history, and photographing the results. First was Stalin; Hitler was the last. When her husband saw the swastika armband lying on the desk, he cracked.
"'I'm aware that you're an artist, but this is wrong,' he told me. I've pondered that a lot myself: Could I really do this? I agree it's on the verge, especially Hitler, whom I and most others view as the incarnation of evil. He and Stalin were the hardest to do. It hurt."

NEW YORK (JTA) -- Jewish groups are upset with recent actions by the Presbyterian Church USA regarding its Israel policies.
A report released March 11 by the church titled "Breaking Down the Walls" was condemned by the Anti-Defamation League as "a toxic mix of bad history, politically motivated distortions and offensive attacks on Judaism and Israel."
Other Jewish groups have lashed out at the Middle East Study Committee, which prepared the report, for failing to reach out to a broad range of Jewish leaders.
The Presbyterian Church USA has had a long and contentious history of treating Israel in a way most American Jewish leaders deem hostile and biased.
On the eve of a 2008 convention in which the Middle East was a hot topic, the church released a document on combating anti-Jewish sentiment that was condemned vigorously by an array of American Jewish organizations as perpetuating anti-Semitic stereotypes. Ultimately the convention yielded a statement embraced by major Jewish groups that promised evenhandedness in the treatment of Israel.
Among the objections raised to the latest report are that it legitimizes doubts about Israel's legitimacy, draws parallels between the threats posed by suspected Iranian and Israeli nuclear arsenals, and calls on the United States to consider withholding foreign aid to Israel.
The report also names several liberal groups -- J Street, B'Tselem and Jewish Voice for Peace -- as demonstrating greater potential for working together "for a more just and secure Israel," The New York Jewish Week reported. Mainstream Jewish organizations, the church report says, do not oppose the occupation or Israel's settlement policy.
A masked Palestinian demonstrator holds stones during clashes with Israeli forces in Ras al-Amud just outside Jerusalem's Old City, Friday, March 12, 2010. Seeking to head off further unrest, police limited access to the city's holiest site Friday, and Israel's military sealed off the West Bank for 48 hours, preventing Palestinians from entering Israel.
