Anti-Israel "pro-peace" Jewsies are scrambling all over themselves to condemn Israel and make it clear to their funders that Israel is always 100% guilty, and Hamas is sweet, innocent and pure as the wind drifted snow.
Neturei Karta: A small number of the anti-Zionist Neturei Karta Hasidic sect demonstrated in Jerusalem's Mea She'arim neighborhood Monday night against Israel's interception of the radical leftist flotilla that tried to break the naval blockade of Gaza, calling the takeover a crime and a despicable act. They waved flags of the Palestine Liberation Organization and signs against the Zionist state. One of the signs read "Jews aren't Zionists." A sign announcing the demonstration said that "Zionists are not from the whole Jewish people but a cult to be condemned, which abuses Jews and persecutes them all the years of their existence."
Jeremy Ben Ami of J Street: This shocking outcome of an effort to bring humanitarian relief to the people of Gaza is in part a consequence of the ongoing, counterproductive Israeli blockade of Gaza. J Street has been and continues to be opposed to the blockade – believing that there are better ways to ensure Israel’s security and to prevent weapons smuggling than a complete closure of the Gaza Strip.
M.J. Rosenberg of Media Matters Action Network: But the massacre happened in international waters and the attack was launched by military commandos against civilians trying to relieve other civilians suffering under an illegal blockade. Pro-Israel? Support an end to the occupation NOW. Anti-Israel? Stick with the status quo (AIPAC, Netanyahu, etc).
Peace Now: Peace Now activists on Monday were demonstrating against Israeli government policies in Tel Aviv. "The details of the operation in the Mediterranean are still not clear," APN President and CEO Debra DeLee said. "Regardless, the outcome of this operation is unacceptable and the policy that led to it is deeply flawed. [In other words, "they don't even know the facts, but will never miss an opportunity to Blame Israel]
And this jaw-dropper from Tikkun: We regret and deplore the killings which took place as Israeli troops, in defiance of international law, boarded and assaulted, wounded many and killed some of the participants in a flotilla seeking to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza (itself a morally outrageous policy) to bring humanitarian aid. We ask all people of peace to dedicate at least fifteen minutes today (Memorial day in the US) to silent memorial for those peace activists who have been killed (and we call upon all synagogues around the world to say Kaddish for those people at their Shabbat services this coming weekend), and for prayer for the speedy recovery of all those wounded in this attack (mostly peace activists, but also the Israeli soldiers who boarded the boats with violence).
Pass the puke pail.
